India is the leader in non-fungible token gaming. However, play-to-earn players in developed countries such as the U.S. or France are significantly lower than those in many other parts of the world, according to the most recent data from Finder.
According to Finder’s most recent NFT gaming statistics, India has the highest percentage of respondents (34%), who have played a P2E video game. Hong Kong ranks second with 29% and the United Arab Emirates third with 27%.
Although P2E games are growing in popularity, data from Finder suggests that there is a difference in the level of interest among respondents from Western countries and those from the rest of the globe. In the United States, nearly 14% of respondents claimed to know what P2E was, 9.4% only played at least one P2E game. Only 4.3% of respondents from Sweden said they had played.
However, in the Study, where Finder attempted to determine NFT gaming habits in 26 countries, the research company found that the U.S. has more players who plan to play P2E games in the future. Finder commented on the anticipated growth in the U.S. population that plans to play P2E in the future.
This figure is expected increase by 1.8 times by 2022. The US population will reach 16.5%.
France is the only country where P2E games are played by 6% of respondents. This number is expected to increase to 15%. Peru (13% to 29%), and Spain (8 to 17%) are the other major movers.
Nigeria Leads Africa
The survey found that respondents younger than 35 were leading NFT gaming. This category is again led by India with 41.7%, while Germany, Sweden and France had all less than 10%.
Only two African countries, South Africa and Nigeria, took part in the survey. One-half of Nigerian respondents reported that they had played a P2E video game, while 16.9% said that they plan to continue doing so. South Africa’s respondents reported that 10.2% of them played an NFT-game, while 10.6% intend to do so in the future.
