Telefonica, Spain’s largest telecommunications firm, has enabled the purchase of products through its technology marketplace using cryptocurrencies.
After Bit2Me added a payment option, Spain’s largest crypto-exchange, the company was able to activate purchases using crypto on Tu.com, according to CoinDesk.
Telefonica also invested in Bit2Me. The exchange confirmed this to CoinDesk. They added that they will release more information on the investment in the coming weeks.
Spanish telecoms company also has its NFT marketplace on Polygon blockchain, which is first integrated with MetaMask.
Telefonica has recently signed deals to develop projects in metaverse. These deals include Qualcomm and will allow it to explore potential opportunities in the service and product segment of the metaverse.
