Tony Hawk, a well-known skateboarder, plans to create a skateboard park in The Sandbox metaverse. The partnership with Autograph and The Sandbox will see the creation of voxel representations (NFTs) of the skateboarder that can be used in The Sandbox metaverse.
Many athletes are now taking their sport to the virtual worlds for fans to connect and enjoy. Tony Hawk, a world-famous skateboarder, has declared that he will create a digital park for skateboarding in the metaverse. The venue will be constructed in partnership with The Sandbox (an ethereum-based metaverse experience) to allow players to take their NFTs and ride freely.
The skateboarder will also work with Autograph, which is a well-known NFT company founded by Tom Brady. They will produce NFTs that are based on his most memorable moments. These NFTs will be available for fans to use in The Sandbox’s metaverse. He is not the first artist to venture into NFT, having previously released numerous NTF collections, some with skateboards.
Hawk spoke out about his next move:
Since my childhood, I’ve been a big fan of new technology. I remember the first videogames I played and the first home computers that had CGI capabilities. I’m fascinated by the metaverse and eager to share our culture with The Sandbox.
Skateboarder was an early cryptocurrency supporter. He bought bitcoin in 2012, after reading about it on the now-defunct Silkroad marketplace.
A Metaverse Hub for Celebrities and Brands
The Sandbox is a metaverse platform built on Ethereum. It is becoming a hub where brands and celebrities can explore the metaverse through digital representations and experiences. The game has been partnered with Snoop Dogg and Adidas, Jamiroquai, Playboy, Jamiroquai, The Walking Dead, Jamiroquai and many other brands. Square Enix and Ubisoft have released IPs to The Sandbox’s metaverse. This allows the digital world to see the Rabbids, Dungeon Siege, and more.
According to sources, claimed that the company was considering a new round of funding. This would have a valuation of $4 billion and bring in $400 million. This has not happened since the reports. The Sandbox’s last capital influx was in November, when it raised $93 million through its series B round.
