Declared on Sunday that Illuvium, a game of monster-battle that uses non-fungible tokens and (NFTs), had raised more than $72 million in digital land sales.
The land was sold between June 2nd and June 5th, 2022. 19.969 of the 20,000 available plots were sold. The remaining 31 plots will be kept for future giveaways.
Illuvium also noted that there weren’t any gas wars during the sale of the land. This is because Ethereum gas prices rise when users are able to perform transactions quickly on the blockchain. Illuvium uses the Immutable engine, which was developed by scaling tech developer Immutable to lower NFT transaction fees and allow for self-custody.
The player begins by having crashed on Illuvium, a distant planet. There, they encounter strange creatures called Illuvials that can be captured and used in battles. Through battling, the player can earn rewards and experience points that allow them to move on to more dangerous terrains in Illuvium.
Illuvium will launch on PC and macOS during the third quarter 2022. You can buy weapons and armor from NFTs which can be used to aid you in gameplay. These can then be resold later on IlluviDEX which has yet not launched.
